The Confucius Institute at University of Hull is delighted to announce that one of its Chinese language teaching cases has been recognised as an Outstanding Case in the 2025 Confucius Institute Digital Application and Practice Collection Activity.
Held in November 2025, the Collection Activity invited Confucius Institutes worldwide to submit examples of innovative practice in the use of digital tools and approaches in Chinese language teaching. Entries were assessed for their classroom impact, creativity and contribution to the wider development of digital pedagogy in Chinese as a foreign language.
The award-winning project was led by Confucius Institute teacher Hongwei Liu, working alongside a fellow teacher from the Institute. Their submission drew on the Institute’s teaching experience in Hull to demonstrate how digital resources can be effectively integrated into Mandarin lessons to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
This recognition reflects the Institute’s ongoing commitment to high-quality, innovative Mandarin teaching across the University of Hull and its partner schools in the Hull region, and to making effective use of digital resources to support learners at all levels.
